British actor Hugh Bonneville is swapping the lavish world of Downton Abbey for life as a tramp to play the title role in the Tv adaptation of David Walliams' children's book Mr Stink.

The Emmy-nominated star, who portrays the wealthy Earl of Grantham in the popular period drama, will tackle the role of a homeless man in the new Bbc adaptation of the funnyman's acclaimed kids' book.

Walliams will also make an appearance in the series, playing Britain's Prime Minister.

The show is expected to debut in the U.K. around Christmas (12).
