Former American football player Jerramy Stevens was pulled over by police in Manhattan Beach, California in January (15), while he was behind the wheel of the Team USA soccer bus.

He appeared in court on Friday (08May15), when he was convicted of misdemeanour DUI within 10 years of another DUI offence, and was ordered to serve jail time.

He was given one day's credit for time served and handed four years' probation, while he must also complete a two-year outpatient alcohol treatment programme in Washington, reports TMZ.com.

During the hearing, Stevens was warned to stay out of trouble, revealing he could face a murder charge in the event someone is killed if he is caught driving under the influence again.

Solo served a 30-day suspension from the U.S. Women's National Team following her husband's arrest.

The couple wed in 2012.
