A judge has dismissed U.S. soccer star Hope Solo's domestic abuse case just days before the start of a scheduled trial.

The goalkeeper was arrested in June (14) on suspicion of assaulting her sister and 17-year-old nephew during a family party in Seattle, Washington.

She subsequently pleaded not guilty to two counts of fourth-degree assault, and last month (Dec14), Solo asked authorities to drop the charges, arguing her relatives had changed their story of the events of the altercation multiple times.

On Tuesday (13Jan15), a Seattle judge sided with Solo and dismissed the charges, just days before the case was scheduled to go to trial next week (begs19Jan15).

Solo, who is training with the U.S. women's national team in preparation for this summer's (15) World Cup, was not present for the case dismissal, but her husband, Jerramy Stevens, attended the hearing.
