American football star and past Super Bowl hero Hines Ward has been sentenced to 80 hours of community service for driving drunk last year (11).
The Dancing With the Stars champion was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence (Dui) in Georgia on 9 July (11). He was released on bail.
Now the sports icon has struck a deal with prosecutors by pleading guilty to failure to stay in his lane and no contest to reckless driving.
As part of the agreement, Ward must log 80 hours with a charitable organisation, pay $2,000 (£1,250) in fines, cover court costs and submit to an alcohol assessment test and any treatment deemed appropriate by evaluators.
