Hillary Clinton's new revealing book as set a BARNES + NOBLE sales record for non-fiction books on its first day of release.
The company says the former first lady's White House memoirs, LIVING HISTORY, sold more than 40,000 copies in the first 24 hours it was available yesterday (09JUN03), instantly making it an in-house bestseller.
Publisher SIMON + SCHUSTER has estimated first-day retail sales across America at 200,000.
Simon + Schuster paid $8 million (GBP5.3 million) for the book, ordering a 1 million copies for the first print run. Spokeswoman VICTORIA MEYER says they will produce another 300,000 books on top of that figure in response to demand.10/06/2003 20:53
