Hilary Swank is on a mission to find the perfect dress.

The 'P.S I Love You' actress - who wore an iconic backless Guy Laroche dress to the 2005 Oscars ceremony - revealed she needs to find "a lot of dresses" to wear when her new movie 'Conviction' opens next month.

The 36-year-old star admitted attending designer Pamella Roland's New York Fashion Week show was an "exciting" experience, as she loves being introduced to new designers.

She explained: "I have a movie opening called 'Conviction' next month so I have a lot of dresses I need to find. I've just been introduced to Pamella and I'm excited to always learn about new designers."

Hilary also admitted she chose to wear a Pamella Roland dress to the event because she wanted an outfit that would show off her tan.

She added to People magazine: "I just thought that this was a nice end-of-summer, beginning-of-fall dress . It still felt light. I still have a little bit of tan left"

The 'Million Dollar Baby' star recently said she feels "constantly objectified" as an actress.

She explained: "Being an actor we are constantly objectified. Things are thrown at us about what we look like, how we should look, we're not this enough or that enough, it's easy to look at yourself in those terms. I think ultimately there are so many different ways a person is beautiful."
