Henry Hopper, son of Dennis Hopper, is facing accusations of rape after the mother of a girl who he allegedly forced himself upon filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages. The son of the late acting great Dennis, Henry's most notable film role came last year in Gus Van Zant's 2011 movie 'Restless', but this incident now threatens to overshadow his career.
TMZ reports that Hopper junior has been accused of plying a teenage girl with drugs and alcohol before raping her, according to court documents that they have obtained. The 16 year-old girl's mother claims that the actor met her through mutual friends in February of last year, with the pair initially communicating via Facebook. Hopper allegedly invited her to his home in California on multiple occasions, promising drugs and alcohol.
When physical meetings began occurring Hopper reportedly "engaged in sexually offensive conduct with her". The suit also claimed that he "preyed upon a young impressionable child, suggesting that he cared for her, luring her into his home with promises of alcohol and illegal drugs, and then repeatedly taking advantage of her youth and vulnerability". According to the mother, her daughter apparently suffered substantial injuries to her emotional health, strength and activity, whilst her mother additionally claims she was required to employ multiple mental health care professionals for treatment. It's unclear if the teenager ever reported the alleged rape herself.
