Danish supermodel Helena Christensen has travelled to Nepal as part of a campaign to highlight the effects of global warming in remote rural communities.
The eco-activist spent three days last week (ends21Nov10) touring villages in the south of the country, meeting residents and hearing their stories about flooding in the area which has destroyed crops and homes.
Speaking in the capital Kathmandu on Monday (22Nov10), Christensen told the Associated Press, "I... met several women who told me their personal stories, shared with me the fear they have over the way they live their lives now constantly waiting for flooding and not knowing how to react when it happens."
