British actress Helena Bonham Carter is battling her local pub's bid to stay open until midnight, insisting she and husband Tim Burton are already sick of the noise from the north London venue. The Sir Richard Steele pub, known to locals as The Steeles, is a popular drinking house in Belsize Park, frequented by the likes of Ewan McGregor and Noel Gallagher. But Bonham Carter and Burton are less than impressed by the pub's charms, especially as rowdy revellers often disturb the sleep of their two-year-old son BILLY. They wrote in a letter of complaint to Camden Council: "We live extremely close to the pub and have to endure enough noise after it has shut. "During the warmer months it is worse once the beer garden is being used and the noise carries into our own gardens, which makes it difficult to have quiet summer evenings and weekends. "If the hours are extended we fear that our quality of living is going to be severely hampered by even later noise as, of course, you have to bear in mind that it does not just finish once the pub doors close but long, long after."
