DAME Helen Mirren only agreed to her latest film role to honour her great, great grandfather.
The Last Station chronicles the final days of Russian author Leo Tolstoy, and Mirren portrays the writer's wife Sofya.
She decided to take on the part because of a family link to Russian nobleman Mikhail Kaminsky, who appears in one of Tolstoy's books.
Mirren says, "My great, great grandfather appears in the book War And Peace."
And the 64 year old is delighted with how well filming went: "This was a wonderful part."
