DAME Helen Mirren is forever grateful her latest acclaimed role as British monarch Queen Elizabeth II has afforded her a more glittering legacy among the UK public. THE QUEEN star, who is hotly tipped to pick up an Oscar on Sunday (25FEB07), used to be best known as TV detective JANE TENNISON in British drama PRIME SUSPECT. But her regal role has earned her a more lasting legacy - worldwide. Mirren says, "I used to think that if I was knocked over by a bus, the next day's papers would say: 'Jane Tennison dies!' "Now I think it would be: 'Helen Mirren, who played the Queen, died.' "I'll be identified with that role for a while until, hopefully, I do something else as good."
