Heather Locklear, the American actress and star of Melrose Place, is described as being "medically stable" after being rushed to hospital on Thursday (12 January, 2012). Locklear, 50, was taken to the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks after her sister placed an emergency 911 call.
Though the exact reason for her hospitalization is unclear, Tmz.com have suggested she may have mixed alcohol and prescription medication, such as Xanax. Her parents Bill and Diane Locklear are said to be by her side and issued a statement to People magazine saying, "She is in no danger and she's going to be just fine". The fire department and sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call from Heather's house in northwest Los Angeles around 2.00pm on Thursday. As mentioned, little is known as to the exact nature of the call, though the actress's 14-year-old daughter tweeted, "Well this sucks". Ventura Country Sherriff's Capt Mike Aranda said, "Emergency response personnel responded to a medical emergency call at Ms. Locklear's residence.Once they arrived, it was determined that Ms. Locklear needed to be transported to the hospital for further medical attention".
Locklear, who recently finished filming TV movie The Assistants, called off her engagement from Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner in November 2011. She was previously married to Bon Jovi guitarist RICHIE SAMBORA.
