Dean Wetter, 65, was taken into custody early on Saturday (27Aug16) amid accusations he choked 16-year-old boys Curtis and William Crowe, the sons of Ann's sister and bandmate Nancy Wilson and her former spouse, director Cameron Crowe.

The incident reportedly took place while the stars were performing a show at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington on Friday night (26Aug16).

Dean appeared in King County District Court in Washington state on Monday (29Aug16), when his bail was set at $10,000 (£7,630). He is due to return to court on Wednesday (31Aug16), and now Ann's spokesperson has addressed the matter in a brief statement issued to People.com.

The press release simply reads: "Since this is a family matter, it is asked that you respect their privacy."

According to court papers obtained by the Seattle Times newspaper, Friday's incident took place after Wetter granted the teens permission to look around Ann's tour bus and then became angry when they left the door open. He reportedly struck one of the boys before holding him by the throat. His twin attempted to intervene and Dean allegedly grabbed him by the throat too and "squeezed to the point he could not breathe for about five seconds before letting go".

Dean married Ann, 66, in April last year (15).

At the time, Ann gushed about their relationship, telling People.com, "He is my friend, my angel, my husband. I am truly happy."
