Lionsgate Television executives are now close to landing the series, which starred Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton as feuding singers, a new home at CMT - America's top country music TV network.

News of the show's cancellation last month (May16), came hours after 26-year-old Hayden announced she was planning to return to rehab to seek further help in her battle with postpartum depression.

The actress and singer released a statement which read: "Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!"

The Heroes actress, whose character on the show also battled postpartum depression, welcomed her first child with fiance Wladimir Klitschko in 2014. Hayden first admitted herself to rehab in October (15), but last month it became clear she was still struggling with the condition.

Nashville also featured many famous musicians, including Brad Paisley, Kesha, and Elton John, who appeared in an episode which aired in the U.S. on 18 May (16).
