Harry Potter creator Jk Rowling turned down the chance to play the boy wizard's dead mother in the hit movies - because she's a terrible actress.

The writer was asked to play Potter's mother LILY in the first film HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE, but turned down the opportunity.

She says, "I am not cut out to be an actress, even one who just has to stand there and wave. I would have messed it up somehow."
