The reviews for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 are among the best of the franchise's eight movies, with the hugely anticipated film gaining a 98% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Excitement for the Harry Potter finale began to intensify after stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint appeared at the London premiere in Trafalgar Square last week.
Among those providing the superlatives are Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times, who writes, "The Harry Potter films, like the boy wizard himself, have had their creative ups and downs, so it's especially satisfying that this final film, ungainly title and all, has been worth the wait". The UK's Daily Telegraph echo the sentiments, saying, "It as a worthy climax to the most successful film franchise in history". The majority of positive reviews claim the movie is the strongest of the entire franchise, with some critics even talking up its chances at next year's award ceremonies. The final instalment continues to follow Harry Potter on his quest to destroy Lord Voldemort's last remaining Horcruxes.
The Harry Potter film franchise is regarded as being the highest grossing film series of all time, with $6 billion taken in worldwide box office receipts. Seven of its films currently appear in the list of the 30 highest grossing films in history.
