The New Zealand born star, who was best known for his role as the Bloody Baron in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and in the Monty Python Biblical comedy Life of Brian, passed away on Wednesday (21Sep16).

Terence also appeared as music manager Leggy Mountbatten in The Rutles, Monty Python star Eric Idle's film spoofing the career of The Beatles. The pair also teamed on the stage in Idle's play Pass The Butler.

Idle confirmed news of the actor's death on Twitter, writing, "I’m so sad to hear of the death of Terence Bayler, from NZ originally. He was in Pass The Butler, Life of Brian & played legendary Leggy!”

Terence also appeared in the films of another Monty Python alumni, Terry Gilliam, playing small roles in his science-fiction classic Brazil and time-travelling children's caper Time Bandits.

No cause of death had been announced at the time of WENN going to press.
