Producers of the new DR WHO TV series are struggling to find enough midget actors - because they have all been signed up to star in the new CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and Harry Potter movies.

A number of tiny actors are needed to play little blue aliens in an episode of the new series, which is to return to TV screens 16 years after it was first axed.

But bosses have discovered a shortage of short stars, because they have all been snapped up to play OOMPAH LOOMPAHS in the JOHNNY DEPP-starring remake of Roald Dahl's children's favourite and GRINGOTTS BANK staff in HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE.

Dr Who executive producer RUSSELL T DAVIES says, "It's very difficult to employ persons of restricted growth when, as our producer PHIL COLLINSON says, 'B**ody Gringotts and the Chocolate Factory are filming at the same time."
