Harrison Ford is not in talks with movie makers to reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the upcoming Blade Runner movie. Deadline.com have spoken to the film's financiers / producers, Alcon Entertainment, who have refuted claims that Ford is in talks with Alcona and Ridley Scott about a return. That particular story appears to have surfaced yesterday and it has been suggested that it may have originated from Twitchfilm.com.
Andrew Kosove, speaking for Alcon, told Deadline "It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner" and added "The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment," insisting that the production team are currently working on "breaking the back of the story'" to determine the direction that they will take with the movie. When asked f it was possible that Ford would be approached to appear on the film again, though Kosove admitted "In advance of knowing what we're going to do, I supposed you could say yes, he could. But I think it is quite unlikely.
According to the report, the filmmakers are keen not to dismiss Harrison Ford as an actor but intimated that they "do not plan to continue his story line." In the 1982 original of Blade Runner, Harrison Ford played the central character, whose job it was to locate and kill four replicants who have hijacked a spaceship and returned to Earth on the hunt for their maker.
