Harrison Ford's 1982 film Blade Runner has been crowned the best science fiction film ever - by top scientists.

The RIDLEY SCOTT-directed classic has topped the poll of the world's leading scientists, including evolutionary biologist RICHARD DAWKINS.

STEPHEN MINGER - stem cell biologist at King's College, London - says, "It was so far ahead of its time and whole premise of the story - what is it to be human and who are we, where do we come from?

"It's the age-old questions."
