Country star Hank Williams Jr has brought a little joy to the only survivor of the Sago Mine, West Virginia, disaster by visiting him in hospital.
The bearded singer visited Randal Mccloy Jr after learning that the miner was a fan of his music.
The singer/songwriter says, "It just hit me like a ton of bricks because I had a big mountain fall in the 1970s, and they said I wouldn't live.
"It really, really affected me, and I said, 'I've just got to go there and meet the family.'"
McCloy remains in a partial coma from injuries sustained in the 2 January (06) mining disaster.
