Hank Williams Jr is at it again. The country star launched into his latest tirade against President Barack Obama at the Iowa State Fair last week, according to the Des Moines Register.
Speaking to the crowd on August 17, 2012, Williams Jr proclaimed, "We've got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!" with the statement reportedly being well received by the packed audience. Of course, this is familiar ground for Hank, who told Rolling Stone magazine in July that Obama, "hates America in the first place, forget about the flag". Last October, the country singer compared the president playing golf with John Boehner to "Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister). Consequently, Espn pulled his song 'All My Rowdy Friends' from its Monday Night Football broadcasts, ending a 20-year-old relationship with the singer. Williams eventually backtracked on the statement - claiming he respected the office of the President - though the sports channel refused to take him back.
Hank Williams Jr's Obama comments are already receiving criticism on Twitter, with one user saying, "Hank Jr: Reinforcing the Stereotype of Stupid Southerners Each Time He Opens His Mouth". Another joked, "Born and raised in the deep South...I am celebrating the fact that I never Once looked to Hank Williams, Jr. for guidance. Seriously".
