Although Gwyneth Paltrow is keen to get back into acting it seems that she'll be looking back fondly to her days as a full-time mother.

Speaking yesterday to talkshow host Oprah Winfrey, the Oscar-winning actress said that being a housewife is "amazing".

Paltrow married the Coldplay singer Chris Martin in 2003 and the pair have two children together, Apple, three, and ten-month-old Moses.

"I've been at home being a housewife, which is amazing and I've loved every second of it," she said.

"It's 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week and they want you present and real and connected and there - but it's been the best three years of my life."

When asked if she was looking forward to returning to work she said: "I'm really looking forward to it as an artist and as somebody who that part of me has been dormant for a long time."

Cinemagoers are set to see Paltrow back on screens towards the end of this year. Projects in the pipeline for the Shakespeare in Love actress include Dirty Tricks also starring Brad Pitt and Meryl Streep and Iron Man, in which she will appear alongside Robert Downey Jr.
