Guy Ritchie is undeterred by the critical mauling his new movie Revolver has received in America and Britain - insisting he anticipated it and isn't hurt.

After his last film SWEPT AWAY flopped, Ritchie hoped his return to the gangster genre would renew the love affair with cinema sparked by the successes LOCK STOCK + TWO SMOKING BARRELS and SNATCH.

But reviews have not been kind. After its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month (SEP05), Screen International called Revolver, "a convoluted, overwrought muddle."

Ritchie said at Revolver's London premiere last night (20SEP05), "I anticipated they would be harsh but I don't hold it against them.

"I'm not sure that it hurts. I've accepted it as rules of the game."
