Songs set to feature on the highly anticipated new GUNS N' ROSES album CHINESE DEMOCRACY have been leaked online.

Frontman Axl Rose has been working on the project for more than a decade since guitar virtuoso Slash walked out on him - and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.

And their appetite has been whetted by the appearance of three new songs on the internet - the rocking BETTER, power ballad THERE WAS A TIME and retro-flavoured IRS - with the latter being played extensively by some US radio stations.

Rose's manager Merck Mercuriadis has ordered offending websites to remove the songs, and slapped radio stations broadcasting the leaked song with cease-and-desist orders.

Rose - who has been a virtual recluse in recent years - has made rare public appearances recently, promising fans a more "complex" record and hinting at festival appearances this summer (06).
