The hip-hop star, who was released from prison in May (16), posted a video on Snapchat over the weekend (04Sep16) and boasted he had been in the studio with Lil Wayne, E-40, and OutKast, among others.

The mention of the low-key Atlanta, Georgia duo set alarm bells ringing for OutKast fans, who have been waiting for new music from Big Boi and Andre 3000 for almost a decade - they last appeared together on 2007's International Players Anthem (I Choose You) with UGK.

The pair reunited for a 2014 festival tour, but no new material came from the summer get together.

Andre 3000 has since appeared on albums by Frank Ocean and Travi$ Scott, while Big Boi has released two solo albums in recent years and teamed up with Phantogram for a collaborative project last year (15).

It's not clear if Gucci actually brought the duo together in the studio or if the rumoured session produced anything for the rapper's new release, Woptober.

Meanwhile, a representative for Andre 3000 has played down chatter of an OutKast get together, telling NME.com there is "no OutKast news to report".

OutKast have not released a studio album since 2003's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
