The group's GEORGE W BUSH-baiting latest album AMERICAN IDIOT failed to oust the controversial leader from power, but did succeed in bolstering support for Democrat rival John Kerry, according to Armstrong.
And the charismatic frontman admits his own morals and beliefs were largely formed by the bands he listened to growing up.
He says, "Music has made a difference in my life and the way I look at the world and it's been a big source of inspiration and education for me.
