Rockers Green Day have achieved the near-impossible - a second week at the top of the US album charts four months after their AMERICAN IDIOT album first went to number one.

The punk trio's new album shocked many when it debuted at number one in September (04) and spent a week on top.

But, 100,000 sales in the past week have been enough to secure the group's third non-successive week at number one.

Eminem's Encore remains at number two, with country star Shania Twain gaining ground and shooting up from number seven to number three with her GREATEST HITS compilation.
