Green Day drummer TRE COOL went to drastic measures to improve his skills - he sneaked into Cuba for drumming lessons.
U.S. citizens need special permission to travel to the Caribbean island, but Cool managed to find a way in when his band took time out from recording in 2006.
He says, "In Cuba, I was drumming, learning new rhythms, taking lessons just outside Havana. I was hitchhiking around, going to shows every single night. We'd jump in old busted cars piling smoke. They'd cost a penny to ride and you'd go as far as they'd go, jump out, walk a bit, flag down another car. It was cool."
