Good Charlotte stars Joel and Benji Madden have postponed their U.S. tour, which was due to kick off in November (14).

The twins are currently working under the name The Madden Brothers while Good Charlotte are on hiatus and the double act was due to perform six dates in America beginning on 17 November (14).

However, they have now cancelled the gigs without telling fans of the reason behind the move.

Announcing the news on the band's page, the Maddens write, "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will need to postpone the US Tour dates until 2015. We appreciate all of your support this year and hope to see all of you in the new year!"

Several fans were angered at the postponement, accusing the brothers of prioritising Australia over their home country because the duo has kept its tour dates Down Under.

Joel, who is also a judge on The Voice Australia, tells, "We love America, but the tour was out of our control... It was just six shows, we can do them in a few months. But I get the fans are passionate. Even though it feels to America we're in Australia a lot, we're in America more than we're in Australia. I'm an American who's in Australia a portion of the year (for The Voice). We enjoy being here."

The pair's Australian tour is due to begin on Friday (31Oct14) in Melbourne.
