The Hollywood stars, who met in 1983, will reportedly exchange vows in a ceremony at their ranch near Aspen, Colorado in the New Year (16).

"It's going to be cowboy hats, horses and rock 'n' roll," a friend of the couple tells British newspaper the Daily Express. "All their relatives are thrilled that they have at last decided to tie the knot."

The report also suggests the couple's son Wyatt, who is an actor and former professional hockey player, will serve as Kurt's best man.

Goldie recently celebrated her 70th birthday with her close-knit family, and her actress daughter Kate Hudson shared a photo on on Saturday (21Nov15), showing her enjoying a break with her mother and her brothers, Oliver and Wyatt, and Kurt's son Boston, from a previous relationship.

"Off grid with my bro's (brothers) and parents for a week! We'll see ya on the other side... #LoveMyFam #HappyBirthdayMamaGoldie #OnlyGirl #LoveTheSea," she captioned the image.

Kate also dedicated a sweet poem to her mum on Instagram.

Kate and Oliver's father is actor Bill Hudson, but they have adopted Kurt as their sole father figure. Wyatt is the couple's only biological child.

Goldie previously said of her longtime lover, "Kurt and I are deeply in love, so why risk ruining something wonderful by getting hitched?"

A representative for the couple has yet to comment on the wedding report.
