Gold Panda Releases 'We Work Nights' New Album Out June 11th 2013

Gold Panda is touring the UK and Europe through June and July as well as festivals this summer, before heading out on his largest ever North American tour, taking NOTOWN label mate Luke Abbott with him. Full shows listed below. Tickets for the North American tour go on sale Friday, May 31st.

"We Work Nights" is a reference to Derwin's live performances, in addition to his former roles of working in a mail sorting office in the UK where he'd perform the 6pm - 6am shift, plus a multitude of gigs working, in his words, "at 4am at Stansted airport helping idiots onto buses to get to the long stay car park, paper rounds, working in a hospital car park giving tickets to the badly-parked bereaved.. this song is dedicated to anyone getting paid shit money to work terribly unsociable hours."

Gold Panda's new album Half Of Where You Live, almost three years on since he burst into public consciousness with the glitchy brilliance of the Lucky Shiner LP. Those three years seem a long time and yet, paradoxically, tracks like "You" and "Snow & Taxis" still sound as buoyantly fresh as they ever did upon their inception back in 2010. That's signatory of Gold Panda though, a producer who absorbs, cultivates and warps so many influences both old and new, so that his tracks spread across eras, rendering such timespans obsolete and transcending any sense of fashion even in the accelerated world of electronic music. For him, new album Half Of Where You Live bears the marks of time on the road and all the perception-altering, personality-defining experiences that have inevitably come his way.
