Glee star Jane Lynch jetted back to her native Illinois to honour U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday (26Jun12) at a fundraiser for her husband Barack's re-election campaign.
The actress made a special trip to Chicago, the Obamas' hometown, to help Michelle drum up support at a Women for Obama event at the Standard Club.
President Obama is currently campaigning for a second term in the White House ahead of the election in November (12), and Lynch insists she was delighted to give her backing.
In a post on Twitter.com, she writes, "Our First Lady just rocked the crowd today in Chicago inspiring us all! It was my honor to intro (sic) her."
Lynch boosted Obama's campaign last month (May12) by narrating a TV advertisement for the U.S. President.
