Editors have announced they will play a third night at London's Brixton Academy as part of their forthcoming tour in October.

The band will be bringing their number one album An End Has a Start to the UK after already playing high-billed slots at a number of UK festivals.

A second-billed slot at Glastonbury Festival was the first of what looks set to be a busy summer for the Birmingham band.

Their UK tour begins on October 1st in Norwich and stops off around the country before concluding on October 25th in Nottingham.

The tour will follow a North American jaunt by the band which will see them playing a number of small clubs in both the US and Canada.

A number of festival dates are also scheduled, including Toronto's Virgin Festival and Osheaga Festival in Canada.

Editors began their musical career with their debut single Munich after being overlooked by a number of record labels.

They have since enjoyed critical acclaim as well as commercial success and their singles include Blood and Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors.
