Girls Aloud singer KIMBERLY WALSH's dad has put an end to rumours that the band will split in 2008.
The Daily Star recently claimed that the band will spilt after their UK arena tour ends in May, reports the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.
However, speaking to the local newspaper John Walsh said: "It's just a fantasy. The national papers put this story out every now and again but it is just utter nonsense.
"To be honest Kimberley gets sick to death of reading it."
He added that the band might take a break of several weeks but that it would not be until the end of the year.
Articles predicting their split said that the girls wanted to try different things such as solo singing or TV careers.
Recently the band filmed a series of individual TV specials called Girls Aloud-Passion shows in which each of the five band members tried something they've always wanted to do.
CHERYL COLE attempts street dancing in LA while Kimberly takes on a role in West End hit Les Miserables.
GIRLS ALOUD's latest single is the theme for the new ST TRINIANS movie.
The girls also made a cameo appearance in the film as the school's band.
