The Actress Behind Ghostbusters Ii's Slimer Spook Has Signed On To Narrate A New Documentary About The Superfans Of The Film Franchise.
Robin Shelby will front director Brendan Mertens' fan-appreciation movie, Ghostheads, when it is released in 2016 to accompany the new all-female Ghostbusters movie, featuring Melissa MCCarthy and Kristen Wiig.
Producer Tommy Avallone, who directed last year's (14) I Am Santa Claus documentary, is launching an Indiegogo.com crowdfunding campaign to generate fan cash to complete the film and market it.
The documentary explores the Ghostbusters fandom and chronicles normal Americans who love to dress up as the movie's characters for conventions and visits to children's hospitals.
"Ghostheads will be more than an, 'Isn't Ghostbusters great?' kind of documentary," Avallone says. "It will follow around some interesting characters that love Ghostbusters. To them it's more than just a movie, it's a way to connect."
