Former SPICE GIRL Geri Halliwell has struck back at acid-tongued SIMON COWELL after he criticised her new video on British television last month (OCT04).
The American Idol mogul ripped into the video for RIDE IT on the ITV network's CD:UK show, describing it as the worst he'd ever seen, before adding that Halliwell's record company should abandon it.
In response, the 32-year-old singer has written to Cowell demanding an explanation for his outburst as well as an apology. She rounded off by insisting that he is wrong - it will be a hit record no matter what he says.
A friend of Halliwell confides, "Geri's written Simon a little note asking him why he's being so unpleasant to her. She wants to know why he's got it in for her and is desperate for him to stop being nasty.
"She feels his attack was unprovoked and unnecessary. Geri doesn't understand why he wants to slag her off."
Cowell originally raged, "If I was her record label and that video arrived on my desk I would throw it in the bin."
The 44-year-old has never been a fan of Halliwell's solo career. In the past he has said, "She's had a lot of money spent on her. She's had loads of songs given to her. She hasn't cut the mustard. Simple as that."17/11/2004 14:18
