Geri Halliwell is ''gutted'' her new single is a flop.

The former Spice Girls singer was left red-faced after her comeback single 'Half Of Me' failed to win over audiences in Australia, and admits she was ''gutted'' when she learned the track had entered the charts at 94, selling only 393 copies.

In a post on her blog, Geri - who has been judging 'Australia's Got Talent' - wrote: ''As much as I'm afraid to look like a quitter, (because we all want to look like winners right?), I'm not afraid to say - I lost!''

Geri - who had signed a new six-figure record deal with Sony Australia - claims she had considered performing the song ''with magnificent gusto'' in a bid to push it further up the charts, but instead opted for 'Wannabe', her first hit with the Spice Girls, when she appeared on the talent show last Sunday (10.11.13).

She explained: ''I need to look back ... Remember who I am - where I've come from and dust myself off... I'm going to sing something that feels honest, just like home.''

Geri had been up against her talent show rival Dami Im - winner of the fifth series of 'X Factor' Australia - who debuted at number one, selling 44,025 copies of her single 'Alive'.
