The 66-year-old actor, who is also known for TV series Father Ted, is accused of damaging two flower pots at the Bank of Ireland in Bunbeg in County Donegal, Ireland on 16 June (16).

His case was brought to Dungloe District Court on Tuesday (12Jul16) and MCSorley was not present when it was first called. Defence solicitor Jacqui Sharkey was unable to contact the actor so Judge Paul Kelly issued the warrant for his arrest.

Sharkey was told she could make arrangements with police officers for the warrant to be served discreetly.

The next scheduled hearing is set for 13 September (16).

This isn't the first time an arrest warrant has been issued against MCSorley - in 2013, he was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace for allegedly engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour, but he failed to appear in court and the warrant was issued.

MCSorley, played Cheltham in Braveheart, Baron Fitzrobert opposite Russell Crowe in Robin Hood, and Father Todd Unctious in the TV comedy.
