George Michael's on-off boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has shared a moving tribute to the late pop icon as the two-month anniversary of his death approaches.
The Careless Whisper singer died at his home in Oxfordshire, England, on Christmas Day (25Dec16), at the age of 53, and Fawaz, who discovered George's body in bed and called emergency personnel, has taken to Twitter to remember his late lover, while slamming rumours he was banned from the star's funeral.
Posting a black-and-white snap of George embracing him and kissing the top of his head, the 43-year-old captioned the shot: "This image says it all."
He later added, "Let me make it clear that I’M NOT BANNED TO GO TO THE FUNERAL none of it is true, ITS NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE NOT TRUE NOT TRUE (sic)."
Fawaz, who had been in a relationship with George for four years, was quizzed by Thames Valley Police last month (Jan17) as they attempted to piece together the final hours of the former Wham! frontman's life. He was reportedly questioned regarding fears George died from a drug overdose. Fawaz previously told reporters he slept in his car the night before George's death.
Sources tell The Sun newspaper head coroner Darren Salter cannot release the singer’s body for another four weeks due to a delay with toxicology tests. This means Michael's funeral will now take place more than three months after his death.
The toxicology tests were ordered after the initial postmortem examination proved "inconclusive".
Insiders also claim the late singer's assets are to be frozen, with an executor appointed to manage his $130 million (£105 million) estate, reportedly leaving his former boyfriend Fawaz facing eviction from George's $3.1 million (£2.5 million) London home.
