Pop star George Michael pulled out of accepting a trophy at a gay magazine's awards ceremony in London on Tuesday night (16Oct12) after falling ill.
The Careless Whisper hitmaker was due to pick up the Icon Award at Attitude magazine's prizegiving, where Sir Ian MCKellen, Lady Gaga and Gary Barlow also won top honours.
However, Britain's Daily Mirror reports Michael began feeling unwell on the day of the event and decided against attending.
Attitude editor Matthew Todd tells the publication, "George must put his health first."
Michael's illness comes just two weeks after he announced he is cancelling a series of shows in Australia to focus on his health and to seek treatment for "anxiety" issues.
