British pop star George Michael has been reportedly arrested after being found asleep at the wheel of his car in London in the early hours of Sunday morning (01OCT06). The former Wham! singer, 43, failed a breath test when approached by police in Cricklewood, north London at 3.20am (BST) and was taken to a nearby hospital by the concerned officers. Police believe Michael was under the influence of both cannabis and alcohol. A police spokesman tells British newspaper Daily Mirror, "In the routine way a doctor was called out to him to take a blood sample, but thought he seemed ill and decided he needed to go to hospital in case he was in a more serious condition that first thought. "There was a concern a mix of drugs and alcohol may have had a bad effect on him." After being given the all-clear after a couple of hours in hospital, Michael returned to Colindale police station, when he was given a caution after admitting possession of cannabis. Michael has been released on bail until November (06). This is the third drug and vehicle-related trouble for Michael this year (06) - in February (06) the singer was cautioned after he was found slumped in his car in central London and was found to be in possession of marijuana. In April (06), Michael avoided police charges after his vehicle collided with three parked cars on a hill near his north London home. The singer declared he was a "terrible driver".
