Country songwriter LARRY KINGSTON has died at a Nashville, Tennessee, hospital following a heart attack he suffered last month (JAN05). He was 63.

Kingston's best-known songs include THANK GOD + GREYHOUND, which was a hit for ROY CLARK and IT'S NOT OVER IF I'M NOT OVER YOU, which was recorded by REBA McENTIRE.

Kingston began his songwriting career in Nashville in the mid 1960s and quickly became sought-after by the biggest names in country music.

Among those who recorded his tunes were DON WILLIAMS, PORTER WAGONER, George Jones and Jerry Lee Lewis. He also enjoyed his own taste of chart success when he recorded his own song GOOD MORNING LOVING in the mid-1970s.
