Chapel, who was also the second of Wynette's five husbands, died on Sunday (06Dec15), according to the Tennessean.

Born Lloyd Franklin Amburgey, Chapel was the brother of rockabilly singer Jean Chapel and country-gospel musician Martha Carson.

Jean Chapel recorded her brother's biggest hit, When the Grass Grows Over Me in 1968. It was also recorded by Jones, who became Wynette's third husband.

According to Rolling Stone, more than 50 members of the Grand Ole Opry have recorded Chapel's songs.
