The Hollywood heartthrob is the face of Nestle's Nespresso coffee range and has appeared in a series of TV adverts promoting the company.

However, bosses at Nestle are convinced an Israeli rival is attempting to hijack their successful campaign by hiring a Clooney lookalike to star in a spoof commercial.

Reports suggest Nestle chiefs have taken legal action against Israel's Espresso Club over the advert, which features a silver-haired actor along with a disclaimer stating this "is not George Clooney".

The lawsuit, filed in Israel, states that Nestle bosses want the Espresso Club advert to be removed from Internet sites such as YouTube, as well as $50,000 (£33,333) in damages.
