The California theatre where Gene Hackman, Nick Nolte and Dustin Hoffman studied their craft is to close after 90 years.
The curtain will come down for the final time at the Pasadena Playhouse on 7 February (10).
Financial problems have led to the decision with executives considering filing for bankruptcy.
Hackman, Hoffman, Nolte and Death Wish star Charles Bronson were among those who once studied drama at the Playhouse's acting school, dubbed the Star Factory.
