The British rocker split from the No Doubt frontwoman last summer (15), after 13 years of marriage, and the couple's divorce was finalised in April (16). Gwen and Gavin's three sons will be spending the 2016 holidays with their mum, while Gavin spends time in his native London, where he is currently appearing as a coach on The Voice U.K.

"It's not my year (to have the kids)...," he tells Entertainment Tonight. "I commute. When I don't have my kids, I go to London."

Gavin has been putting his personal time to good use - he is working with the A Place Called Home organisation, which helps at-risk youths by providing them with a secure, positive family environment - and he is hoping to pass his philanthropic work to his children.

"It's a fantastic charity," he says. "I'm looking forward to getting my children involved in some of the things they're doing over Christmas. Because, you know, for all of us who are lucky enough to have made these lives for ourselves, our children don't get the perspective that maybe we grew up with."

"So organisations like this, who do such great work for the inner cities... my kids need to know about that stuff, so that's why I'm here," he continues.

Rossdale recently opened up about his split from Stefani, insisting he is ready to move on and focus on his sons.

"It's, like, enough already. I've got to move on. Everyone has got to move on," he told Britain's The Times newspaper in October (16). "I have an incredible life with them (kids), and that's what matters. You can't keep up with all the vitriol. Just don't get into all that."
