British singer Gary Barlow and his wife have been left devastated after their fourth child was delivered stillborn.
The Take That star's wife, Dawn, went into labour on Saturday (04Aug12), but the baby girl they had named Poppy did not survive.
Announcing the tragic news in a statement on Monday (06Aug12), Barlow says, "Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we've lost our baby.
"Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4th in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We'd ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected."
Barlow and Dawn are also parents to son Daniel, 11, and daughters Emily, nine, and Daisy, three.
Theatre mogul Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, who recently teamed up with Barlow to create the Queen's Diamond Jubilee anthem, has taken to Twitter.com to offer his condolences to the grieving couple, writing, "Dearest Dawn & Gary, Madeleine & I are devastated about news of Poppy. Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family."
