Garth Brooks has traded his guitar for a fan's concert sign, which he now uses as a constant reminder of how lucky he is.
The singer was moved during a recent show in Minnesota when he spotted cancer-stricken devotee Teresa Shaw's placard in the audience and invited her to come to the front of the stage for a touching guitar handover.
The footage of the magical moment went viral and Brooks was reunited with Shaw during a Tv spot on news show Entertainment Tonight last week (ends14Nov14).
And now the country star reveals he asked for her sign, which read "Chemo This Morning, Garth Tonight. Enjoy The Dance", referring to his hit song, The Dance.
He says, "It's in my locker, it travels with us, so any time I feel 'Poor Garth...' I look at that sign and I go, 'Are you kidding?'"
