British cinema-goers proved they haven't recovered from The Hangover franchise just yet as the comedy's third installment knocked Fast & Furious 6 from the top of the U.K. box office chart.

The Hangover Part Iii, starring Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis, raked in $4.5 million (£2.9 million) over the weekend (31May-02Jun13), pushing Vin Diesel's latest high-octane offering into second place with takings of $3.3 million (£2.1 million).

Animated caper Epic, featuring the vocal talents of Colin Farrell and Josh Hutcherson, earned $3.1 million (£2 million) in its second week on release, while sci-fi adventure Star Trek Into Darkness dropped into fourth place with $2 million (£1.3 million).

Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby failed to gain points and slipped one position from last week (beg27May13) into fifth place with takings just shy of Star Trek's $2 million (£1.3 million).
